an innovative

vision

Becoming a key retail and entertainment landmark on the Geneva scene in an eminently contemporary setting.

Confédération Centre’s objectives
We’d like to bring new life to the town centre with an offer that is both sustainable and ever-changing in an environment in which everything is recognisable. To reconnect with the locals and attract families, young people and tourists, leaving them with the memory of their visit by being accessible in every sense of the term and unceasingly reinventing ourselves with the aim of always offering the unexpected. Finally, we want to create an unprecedented culture of hospitality through an environment which promotes an inviting and relaxed mood at all times.

Our future tenants
Our aim is to create an INNOVATIVE MIX of retail concepts, food and entertainment. To achieve this, we plan to combine well-established brands with emerging alternatives and the latest concept stores, as well as local products and items that are hard to find in Geneva.

We’d like to offer our visitors a new and INTERESTING EXPERIENCE. Which is why we welcome pop-up stores as well as new brands to enhance our existing offer and attract even more visitors.

We’re looking for TRENDY partners that can bring new and attractive brands or products to Geneva, partners who offer their clients an UNFORGETTABLE experience, ORIGINAL product presentation, and who are UNCOMPROMISING with regard to the quality of the location in which they plan to settle.

history and

modernity

Inaugurated in 1986, Confédération Centre needed a revamp in order to get with the times and offer renewed appeal.

In the beginning, this was a story of banks
The Confédération Centre project was started in the 1970s by the UBS and the SBS seeking to set up a centre for asset management, a field that was taking off at the time. However, as the authorities were determined to maintain the life of the backstreets, the project finally settled on a mix of banks, shops and accommodation.

Architecture that had become somewhat dated
The 1970s were the time of architectural postmodernism. Confédération Centre, the ultimate showpiece of this trend, reinterpreted a distinctive Geneva feature: domes and arches that protected passers-by from the weather. This trend was fleeting however, and the face of the Centre remained set in its time.

Building

New positioning
Out of sync with today’s expectations, Confédération Centre needed a revamp to appeal to Geneva locals and tourists alike. In 2011, the main owner, Credit Suisse Asset Management, decided to transform it into an avantgarde location with content that was updated continuously.

New actors
In 2012, a Zurich-based company called Ramseier & Associates Ltd. won the architecture tender. The project opted for new positioning and suggested a highly contemporary, almost timeless face.
